In my previous entry, I used an animated series to discuss about some theories and types of Intelligence, and how we should not be confined with the standardized tests. After reading some materials, I also submitted an assignment and participated in discussions. The truth is, I kind of feel bombarded this week.
Aside from falling behind the schedule, I am bit hesitant with my assignment. Due to some circumstances, I rushed on finishing the module that it made me uneasy to complete the assignment. We were asked to challenge the old notions, discuss the impact of intelligence testing, and the hardest part of all–propose and name our own theory! That is really a tough one and after that, we should share our works with our co-learners.
I decided to explore the cultural intelligence. It is not as spontaneous as the theories proposed by my classmates. There are works that did not tackle about theories, but it conveys a meaningful message for future educators. To those who presented their own theory, I am in awe on how they come up with that. Reading their works seems like tying up the loose ends I have made when I was writing mine. Like the other theories that were published in the past, our thoughts show our differences. Some are complementary, and some are contradicting. But I am grateful that Module 2 ended with this kind of activity. I do not learn only from our teacher, but I also learn from my co-learners, and I think this is the essence of being in a community–tying up the loose ends and fastening the rope so everyone could sail and arrive on their destination.
